Many of you have been in touch to let us know how you’ve been affected by today’s mass internet outage. Here are some more of your experiences.
ERIC:
I’m from DOKKA, an AI accounting automation platform for businesses. We were watching our platform closely to see if the AWS outage would affect our services – but it wasn’t. What was affected was our internal productivity as many of the tools we use were down. Some of my colleagues reported that Slack was having issues – my Slack worked perfectly. But what wasn’t working for me was my Zoom. It would login, and a few seconds later automatically close, with a notification showing it was closing. Luckily this just lasted a few hours
CHRISTINA:
I use Alexa-enabled smart plugs to control the lamps in my room. I’m unable to walk without leaning on crutches so being able to turn lights and music on by voice is very helpful. During the outage my smart plugs became unresponsive. Before I realized why the plug wasn’t working, I tried unsuccessfully to reset one of them. Now I can’t get it to work at all.
